Celeste is a licensed and board-certified Creative Arts Therapist, practicing since 2016.  After completing her BA at New York University in 2011, she eventually identified a desire to combine her longtime  interests in art and psychology with her desire to work with people. Once she discovered the field of art therapy, she knew she wanted to pursue it.  Celeste graduated from School of Visual Arts with my MPS in Art Therapy in 2016, and has since been providing art therapy and counseling services to a wide range of individuals.  As an artist in her own right, Celeste works with a variety of materials from photography and film, to painting and sculpture, which inform her art therapy practice to include a similarly wide array of techniques.  She practices from an interdisciplinary perspective, integrating psychodynamic, humanistic, trauma-focused, and many other contemporary clinical approaches in her work. Importantly, Celeste tailors her treatment to each individual and works in a client-centered manner, collaborating with her clients throughout their time in therapy.

Since graduating in 2016, Celeste has been working at in an outpatient substance use/misuse program for adolescents, young adults, and adults  of all ages. She has been able to build specific skills in assisting clients with substance use/misuse challenges, as well as the particular life struggles that young adults experience.  Through her clinical experience Celeste has also worked with individuals dealing with a variety of sensitive issues including depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD, grief, identity, LGBTQIA+ issues, relationship challenges, and many more.  She has had the opportunity to receive formal training in several evidenced-based-practices including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Community Reinforcement Approach to Family Training, and Motivational Interviewing, which have further informed her practice.

Celeste believes deeply in the power of art therapy to provide a transformational experience.  She strive develop a safe space for such work, and to tap into the most healing resource we all possess - our own creativity.
